Leaving Home

The Voyage traveled from England to New Zealand taking about 4-6 months. But if weather was got worse it would take longer than expected. Live animals were carried on board to provide food and milk poultry might be kept in cages on the poop.

Solar Eclipse || Week 5 English ||

On Monday 21 August The U.S.A Will witness a natural phenomenon Where the moon will completely block out the sun or as people call it the "Eclipse".

It is safe to look at the Sun's Corona even though the Sun's Atmosphere is very hot.
You could see the Solar Planets lining up to the Sun including Mercury And Venus and some of the most brightest stars.

Eclipses happen when the Moon comes in front of the sun and is in the middle of the Sun and Earth.
Many star gazers traveled to look at the Spectacle.

Social Studies || Week 4 ||

Captain Cook first traveled to New Zealand in 1769 but started looking for New Zealand in 1968.

They reached shore near a river where Gisborne stands today. And meet some members of a Maori tribe.

Captain Cook was eager to meet some Maori people but they never seen a white person before and killed some of the Captain Cooks men

Captain Cook had to kill some Maori people to protect themselves which he felt very sad about

Captain Cook drew the first map of New Zealand by sailing around

Captain Cook became close with the Maori people

Finally after three years Captain Cook returned home

Captain Cook on his third and final journey in 1776 in Hawaii he got killed by an angry warrior

Social Studies Term 3 || Week 3 ||

Living in the Industrial Revolution

Diseases spread really quickly since their place was very unhygienic
Example: Toilet waste used to get dumped on the street

Children always were underfeed they gave them pills to help them forget and they didn't go to school.

Their were lots of children that were working they are mostly orphans
They get promised food and a place to sleep
but kids who don't work they get called "Street Rats"

Push Factors
People were taught that ideals were strict discipline, hard work, being moral, keeping a stiff upper lip, knowing right from wrong


Why Do the british want to leave England?

The British want to leave England because it is filthy

The children always are hungry and are given pills to forget about their starvation. Children from 8 and up can be hired into factories to help with money and also if their are helpless children who are homeless and need a place to sleep and eat they get a job at the factory and get a place to sleep. But if they choose not to work they are labelled as “Street Rats”. Diseases can also spread really quickly because of its filth

For example toilet waste gets dumped onto the streets where everyone can see it and Kids are also given pills to forget about their starvation and families have to share a room imagine how difficult it would be.

The british want to leave England because it is fear of natural disasters and poverty
